Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – A fatal accident occurred on the Palembang-Prabumulih Toll Road at KM 48, resulting in the death of dr. Bella, a medical staff member escorting hajj pilgrims from Muara Enim. She served as the Head of Services at Semendo Darat Laut Regional Hospital (RSUD SDL) in Muara Enim Regency.
The tragic incident was captured in a 27-second video received by Kotabari.com on Monday (15/7/2024) around 8:20 PM. The video shows two severely damaged vehicles. A black minibus with the license plate BG 20 PZ appears not too damaged, while the other car, with license plate BG 1127 DT, is heavily damaged.
In the video, a man’s sobbing voice can be heard, pleading with bystanders not to take photos of the deceased victim. “Please don’t take pictures, she’s already passed away,” he cried. The camera then shifts to show a red license plate, confirming the accident occurred on the Palembang-Prabumulih Toll Road.
Dr. Hj. Eni Zatila MKM, Head of the Muara Enim Health Department, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of dr. Bella. “We are deeply saddened and mourn the loss of dr. Muara Enim Police Chief AKBP Jhoni Eka Putra, through Public Relations Officer AKP RTM Situmorang, confirmed the traffic accident on the Palembang-Prabumulih Toll Road, which resulted in fatalities. “Yes, that’s correct. Members of the Gelumbang Police and Muara Enim Police are on their way to the scene. Sorry, for now, that’s all the information we can provide to the media,” he stated.
This incident adds to the list of fatal accidents on this toll road. All relevant parties are urged to enhance safety and security measures on the toll road to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
