Lubuklinggau, KOTABARI.COM – A tragic collision involving two motorcycles occurred on Garuda Street RT. 02, Kayuara Subdistrict, Lubuklinggau Barat I District, on Tuesday (January 7, 2025), at 10:30 PM. The accident resulted in one fatality and several others sustaining severe injuries.
The incident involved a Honda Beat B-5368-BAY, driven by Acis (24) and his passenger Deni Marsel (16), colliding with a Yamaha Mio Soul BG-4001-LG, ridden by Apriel Alpariansyah (19) with two passengers, Andre Wijaya and Parel Aditia Saputra (16).
Casualties and Injuries
Acis, a resident of Garuda Street RT. 03, succumbed to his injuries at Arbunda Hospital due to a laceration on his left eyebrow, facial swelling, and a broken right wrist.
Meanwhile, Deni Marsel suffered injuries including a cut on his right eyebrow, abrasions on his forehead and nose, scratches on his left leg, and a fractured right arm.
Yamaha Mio rider Apriel Alpariansyah sustained a laceration on his left brow and swelling in his left eye. His passengers, Parel Aditia Saputra and Andre Wijaya, also suffered serious injuries. Parel had wounds on his lips, abrasions on his left cheek, and a bruised left eye, while Andre sustained injuries to his left forehead, chin, and hands, and was unconscious due to head trauma.
Incident Chronology
Lubuklinggau Police Traffic Unit Head, AKP Marjuni, through Gakkum Unit Chief Ipda Tedi Indiarto, explained the sequence of events.
“The Yamaha Mio Soul BG-4001-LG was traveling from Watas heading toward the market, while the Honda Beat B-5368-BAY was coming from the market heading toward Watas. Upon reaching the location, the Honda Beat suddenly turned into the opposite lane, causing the collision,” Tedi explained on Wednesday (January 8, 2025).
The collision caused both motorcycles to sustain severe damage to their front parts. All injured individuals are currently receiving intensive medical care at the hospital.
Further Investigation Underway
Tedi added that the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation by the police. “The cause is still under investigation,” he stated.
The police urge motorists to exercise greater caution while driving, especially at night, to prevent similar incidents in the future.
