Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – The Head of the Housing and Settlement Agency (Perkim) of South Sumatra Province, Ir Basyaruddin Akhmad M.Sc, was questioned as a witness by the Investigators of the Special Crimes Unit (Pidsus) of the South Sumatra Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) regarding the alleged corruption case related to the construction of Cinde Market in Palembang. The interrogation of Basyaruddin Akhmad took place on Monday (7/8/2023).

During the questioning, Basyaruddin Akhmad complied with the summons from the Investigators of Pidsus Kejati Sumsel and arrived at the Kejati Sumsel Building on Gubernur HA Bastari Street in Jakabaring at 13:35 Wib. He was dressed in a blue batik outfit as he provided information concerning the investigation into the Cinde Market construction.

However, when interviewed by the media about his arrival, Basyaruddin Akhmad chose to protect his privacy by covering his face with a mobile phone. He refrained from giving extensive comments regarding his summons by the investigators of Pidsus Kejati Sumsel, stating, “Please ask the Head of Public Relations.” Basyaruddin said while using his mobile phone to cover his face. After providing his statement, Basyaruddin Akhmad evaded the media and headed toward the elevator in the Kejati Sumsel Building.

Vanny Yulia Eka Sari SH MH, the Head of Public Relations at Kejati Sumsel, confirmed that two witnesses were summoned by the investigators to provide statements regarding the alleged corruption case of Cinde Market development. “Yes, that’s correct. Today (yesterday), two witnesses were summoned, but only one appeared, identified as B, who was the deputy procurement secretary in 2015. As for M, who was the Head of BPKAD in 2015, he was absent and will be rescheduled,” Vanny confirmed.

According to Vanny, witness B held the position of deputy procurement secretary for the Cinde Market Project. During the questioning, witness B was presented with 20 questions, and the interrogation lasted for about 2 hours, commencing at 10:00 Wib.

The alleged corruption case related to the development of Cinde Market in Palembang continues to attract attention, and the examination of these witnesses is expected to shed light on the progress of the case. The prosecutor’s office is committed to uncovering the truth and pursuing legal proceedings in accordance with the applicable regulations.
