Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) – A makeup artist (MUA) in Ogan Komering Ulu, Fenny Lismawarni (23), has been named a suspect in the theft of her client’s jewelry. Fenny allegedly stole 14 gold pieces and Rp 5 million in cash while working at a circumcision ceremony in Gunung Meraksa Village, Pengandonan District.

According to Aiptu Risman H, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit at Pengandonan Police, the suspect took advantage of an open bedroom door to commit the crime. Nine gold pieces had already been sold by the suspect, but five pieces were successfully recovered by the police as evidence.

“The suspect admitted to using the stolen money for partying and treating her friends,” Risman told detikSumbagsel on Friday (December 6, 2024).

The theft occurred on Sunday (November 10, 2024), around 8:00 AM, when Fenny was hired to do the makeup of Yisna Dewi, the victim, during her grandson’s circumcision ceremony.

“From the suspect’s arrest, we secured a five-suku gold necklace along with a receipt from Zam Zam 2 Jewelry Store under the name Tika. We also seized the clothing the suspect wore during the crime,” Risman explained.

Fenny now faces charges under Article 362 of the Indonesian Penal Code, carrying a maximum sentence of five years in prison. Authorities are continuing to investigate the case to gather additional evidence and motives.
