Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – A member of the Musi Banyuasin (Muba) Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) from the Hanura faction, identified as RH, was caught with a civil servant from the Lawang Wetan Subdistrict, identified as A, in a hotel room in Palembang. The raid was conducted by the civil servant’s husband on Friday (June 21) at a hotel on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. The incident caused a commotion at the scene.
Rahman Senen, Chairman of the Muba Hanura DPC, confirmed that he had received information about the incident. “The information is as such. I have tried to clarify with RH, but so far, I have not been able to reach him,” said Rahman, who is also a member of the Muba DPRD, on Saturday (June 22, 2024).
Rahman explained that he first received the information through a WhatsApp message from someone questioning the authenticity of a profile photo of RH with Apriyadi Mahmud at the inauguration of the Acting Regent of Muba for the 2022-2024 period. The message also mentioned that RH was caught allegedly having an affair.
“I cannot comment much as I have not clarified with the person concerned. Maybe we will clarify it during the DPRD Muba Plenary Session on Monday (June 24) if he attends,” Rahman said.
Rahman added that, given the institutional implications, the Muba DPRD Honorary Council will summon RH for further confirmation. However, he could not specify when the Honorary Council’s investigation would take place. “We will first clarify during the Plenary Session. The heaviest sanction could be dismissal as a Council Member after proof. Later, the Honorary Council will recommend the sanction to the party, whether light, moderate, or severe,” he explained.
This case has drawn public attention, especially since it involves public officials who are expected to be role models for the community. Further clarification and investigation will determine the sanctions to be imposed on RH if found guilty.
