Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – The case of alleged manipulation during the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of Bank Sumsel Babel (BSB) in Pangkal Pinang in 2020 remains under scrutiny. As of Thursday, November 23, 2023, investigators from the Indonesian National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri) are actively conducting examinations related to this matter.
Once again, the Chief Commissioner of BSB, Edi Junaidi, underwent questioning by the Criminal Investigation Unit (Pidsus) of the Palembang City Police at the Polrestabes Palembang. Edi Junaidi, observed by Kotabari.com, was seen entering the Pidsus Unit around 13:00 WIB, dressed in a white shirt and black trousers. Following approximately 2.5 hours of interrogation, Edi Junaidi exited the Pidsus Unit around 15:15 WIB.
When approached by the media for comments on the examination, Edi Junaidi declined to provide any statement, expressing his intention to rest and perform his prayers first. “Let’s discuss this later, I need to rest and pray,” he briefly responded.
At approximately 15:40 WIB, accompanied by a group, Edi Junaidi re-entered the Pidsus Unit at the Palembang City Police for further questioning by the Mabes Polri officials. Alongside Edi Junaidi, Erzy Rada Putra, who served as the Head of the Legal Department of BSB and the notary during the EGM, was also subjected to scrutiny by the investigators.
However, the Corporate Secretary of BSB, M Robi Hakim, emphasized that the EGM held in March 2020 in Pangkal Pinang had been in accordance with the prescribed regulations. Robi underscored the bank’s respect for the ongoing legal process and urged all parties not to speculate excessively about the issue.
According to Robi, Bank Sumsel Babel conducts its corporate affairs in a professional manner, adhering to existing regulations and welcoming professional feedback. He further asserted that the decisions made during the EGM were carried out in accordance with established procedures and mechanisms, highlighting the bank’s commitment to professionalism and adherence to procedures.
