Lahat, KOTABARI.COM – Under the command of AKP M. Romi SH, MH, the seriousness of the Satresnarkoba team of Lahat Police Precinct in combating drug trafficking in the jurisdiction of Lahat Police Precinct has been escalated. It has been proven that within a few days, the team formerly known as Team Walet of Lahat Police Precinct has once again successfully uncovered a suspect involved in the distribution of cannabis, a type of narcotic.
The revelation of the alleged distributor of the “Devil’s Leaf” came after the Satresnarkoba team of Lahat Police Precinct received Police Report No: LP/A/64/VII/2023/SPKT.Narkoba/Polres Lahat/Polda Sumsel on July 13, 2023. The incident took place on Thursday at approximately 2:00 AM local time in Talang Padang Tinggi village, Pajar Bulan sub-district, Lahat Regency.
“In addition to the suspect named Mailan (37), a farmer residing in Talang Padang Tinggi village, Pajar Bulan sub-district, Lahat Regency, the Satresnarkoba team also seized evidence of cannabis narcotics,” revealed Lahat Police Chief AKBP S. Kunto Hartono SIK, MT, through the Head of Public Relations Division of Lahat Police Precinct IPTU Sugianto, as conveyed by AIPTU Liespono SH, the Sub-Section Chief of Public Relations and Social Affairs of Lahat Police Precinct, on Friday (July 14, 2023).
Liespono explained the chronological details of the arrest, stating that based on community information regarding the frequent drug abuse in the location, after conducting a preliminary investigation of the place and the people involved, one person named Mailan was apprehended on Wednesday, July 13, 2023, at around 2:00 AM local time. “At the time of the arrest, the suspect was inside his residence located in Talang Padang Tinggi village, Pajar Bulan sub-district, Lahat Regency,” he added.
Furthermore, Liespono continued, the Satresnarkoba team of Lahat Police Precinct conducted an examination and found evidence in the form of a black plastic bag containing 7 medium-sized packages of dried leaves wrapped in narcotic-grade paper (suspected to be cannabis) inside a cardboard box located in the middle of the suspect’s house.
Liespono then mentioned that the Satresnarkoba team of Lahat Police Precinct seized Rp 40,000 in cash, believed to be proceeds from the sale of cannabis, found on the TV shelf. Additionally, one manual weighing scale was discovered by the police officers in the suspect’s room, along with one Oppo CPH1329 gold-colored mobile phone, which is suspected to be related to drug offenses.
Liespono further revealed that the seized evidence acknowledged by the suspect belonged to him. Subsequently, the suspect (TSK) and the evidence were taken to Lahat Police Precinct for further investigation. “From the hands of this alleged distributor, the police seized evidence including 7 medium-sized packages of dried leaves wrapped in suspected cannabis-grade paper, one manual weighing scale, Rp 40,000 in cash, one cardboard box, one black plastic bag, and one Android mobile phone. The gross weight of the 7 cannabis packages is 600 grams. The primary charges pressed are Article 114 paragraph (1) and the subsidiary charges are Article 111 paragraph (1) of the Indonesian Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics,” concluded Liespono.
