Ogan Komering Ulu, KOTABARI.COM – With just 10 days remaining until Eid al-Fitr, the state of the Trans-Sumatra Highway (Jalinsum) from the city of Baturaja to Tebing Kampung Village in Semidangaji Subdistrict, OKU Regency, remains in a state of disrepair.
The damage is sporadic, scattered across various locations. Particularly severe is a section in Batukuning Village, Baturaja Barat Subdistrict, where a significant pothole has formed, accompanied by peeled asphalt spanning approximately 5 meters along the road’s axis.
Motorists, especially those on four-wheeled vehicles, must exercise extreme caution in this area. Road users must take turns passing through the damaged sections.
The situation worsens considerably during rainfall. Deep potholes along the roadside become filled with water, catching many unsuspecting drivers off guard.
Similar road damage is evident in Karang Endah Village, Baturaja Barat Subdistrict. While the conditions resemble those in Batu Kuning Village, the damage in Karang Endah manifests as undulating and rippling asphalt.
The undulations, both broad and deep, pose a significant risk to four-wheeled vehicles, especially those belonging to Eid al-Fitr travelers. The length of peeled asphalt in this area spans approximately 4-5 meters.
In the Semdiangaji region, several points of road damage warrant the attention of Eid al-Fitr celebrants returning to their hometowns.
Authorities urge all travelers to exercise utmost caution and vigilance when navigating these compromised road sections. With the holiday season fast approaching, ensuring safe travel for all is of paramount importance.
