Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – The residents of Pulau Kemarau, Palembang, were shocked by the discovery of a heavily built man’s body floating in the Musi River on Wednesday (5/29/2024). The body was first discovered by Asna, a middle-aged woman scavenging for scrap materials along the river.
While searching for scrap, Asna was startled by the sight of an object floating in the river. Upon closer inspection, she realized it was the body of a man. Asna immediately screamed for help from the nearby residents.
“Help, help,” Asna shouted in panic.
Responding to Asna’s cries, the locals quickly gathered and reported the incident to the Gakkum and Patroli unit of the Satpolairud Polrestabes Palembang. Acting on the report, Kasat Polairud Polrestabes Palembang, Commissioner Suprawira, promptly dispatched his team to the scene.
“The body has been evacuated and transported to Bhayangkara Hospital for further identification,” said Commissioner Suprawira.
Commissioner Suprawira added that the body was found without any identification. The man is described as heavily built, with dark skin, wearing a black t-shirt, and black pants.
“We urge Palembang residents who have missing family members matching this description to visit Bhayangkara Hospital for identification purposes,” he concluded.
This discovery adds to the growing list of similar incidents in the Musi River, and the police are continuing their investigation to uncover the identity and cause of death of the man.
