OKU, KOTABARI.COM – The OKU District Police in South Sumatra have successfully seized 19 empty drums measuring 220 liters, believed to be connected to an illegal fuel storage facility. The discovery was made at Rt 01 Rw 01 Lorong Tito Film, Kemelak Bindung Langit Village, East Baturaja District, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency on Sunday (16/07/2023).
OKU District Police Chief, AKBP Arif Harsono, S.I.K., M.H., explained that the action was taken based on reports from the public regarding a suspected location for blending or mixing subsidized and illegally obtained fuel. “Last night, we conducted an inspection at the site and found dozens of drums and other containers suspected of holding illegal fuel. We will examine the type of fuel found, whether it is diesel or other types,” AKBP Arif stated.
However, the police have not yet identified any suspects in this case. Nevertheless, they have obtained several names of individuals suspected of involvement and will soon proceed with further investigations by questioning those individuals. “We are still in the process of investigation and will soon conduct interrogations with the relevant parties,” added the OKU District Police Chief.
