Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – Anton Eka Saputra (25), a cooperative worker in Palembang who was reported missing since Saturday, June 8, 2024, was found dead and buried in the backyard of a clothing store “Anti Mahal” located at Jalan KH Dahlan Block D2 Maskarebet, Sukarami, on Wednesday (June 26, 2024).
According to the family’s report to the police, the Criminal Investigation Unit of Palembang Police immediately conducted an investigation and successfully apprehended a suspect. The suspect’s confession led to the discovery of Anton Eka Saputra’s body buried behind the shop in the Maskarebet residential area, Sukarami District, Palembang.
Palembang Police Chief, Commissioner Harryo Sugihhartono, stated that the identification team from the Criminal Investigation Unit of Palembang Police, along with the Forensic Team from Bhayangkara M Hasan Hospital in Palembang, are still evacuating the victim’s body buried behind the shop.
“The victim was a cooperative employee who was reported missing after leaving home to collect debts on June 8, 2024. As he never returned home, the family reported to the police,” Harryo told reporters at the crime scene.
From the initial investigation, it was revealed that the victim was murdered while collecting debts. “The main perpetrator is still at large. We have currently detained one suspect involved in the victim’s murder,” Harryo said.
The police are still on-site to exhume the victim’s body buried behind the shop. The evacuation process, involving forcibly dismantling the shop’s rolling door, has also drawn a crowd of local residents.
