Jakarta, KOTABARI.COM – A tragic incident has shaken the capital city as a young man named Imam Masykur was reportedly killed due to alleged assault by members of the Presidential Security Force (Paspampres) and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). Praka RM from Paspampres and two TNI personnel are suspected to be involved in this case.
According to information disclosed by the Commander of the Jakarta Military Police (Pomdam Jaya), Colonel CPM Irsyad Hamdie Bey Anwar, the incident is believed to be related to extortion. Irsyad stated that the victim, Imam Masykur, was involved in the illegal drug trade. Due to this reason, the victim refrained from reporting the kidnapping and extortion incidents to the police. Consequently, the group of suspects is believed to have kidnapped the victim.
“They (Imam Masykur) were involved in the illegal drug trade. So, if there was a kidnapping or extortion, they wouldn’t report it to the police. Eventually, they were kidnapped,” Irsyad explained.
Furthermore, Irsyad revealed that the perpetrators extorted the victim’s family for a sum of IDR 50 million. This extortion was accompanied by acts of violence that ultimately led to the victim’s death.
“They demanded IDR 50 million, and when it wasn’t fulfilled, they continued to torture him. During the torture, which might have been severe, he eventually died,” Irsyad stated.
The Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Admiral TNI Yudo Margono, expressed his concern over the incident. The Head of the TNI Public Information Center (Kapuspen TNI), Rear Admiral Julius Widjojono, conveyed that the TNI Commander will closely monitor the case and ensure that the perpetrator, Praka RM, receives a severe punishment.
“The assault by a Paspampres member that led to the victim’s death has saddened the TNI Commander, and he will oversee this case to ensure that the perpetrator receives a severe punishment, with the maximum penalty being death and the minimum being life imprisonment,” Julius informed journalists.
Julius also confirmed that Praka RM will be dismissed from the TNI for his actions, which are considered serious criminal offenses, particularly due to the alleged premeditation of murder in this case. Currently, Praka RM is still in custody of Pomdam Jaya for further examination regarding the tragic assault case.
It is expected that the authorities will take swift and decisive action in investigating this case and ensuring that justice is served for the family of the victim, Imam Masykur.
