Kikim Barat, KOTABARI.COM – Lahat Police Chief, AKBP S.Kunto Hartono SIK, MT, through Kikim Barat Police Chief, IPDA Joni Arpan SE, has successfully uncovered a case of motorcycle theft (Curanmor) in Purnamasari Village, Kikim Barat Subdistrict, Lahat Regency. IPTU Sugianto, the Head of Public Relations at Lahat Police, conveyed this information, as stated by AIPTU Liespono SH, Head of the Public Relations Subsection at Lahat Police.
The incident took place on Friday, September 8, 2023, around 07:00 AM, at a rubber plantation owned by Heri in Block A of Purnamasari Village, Kikim Barat Subdistrict, Lahat Regency. The suspected motorcycle thief, identified as Parnudin (45) and residing in a rented house in Sawah Lorong, Tebing Tinggi Subdistrict, Empat Lawang Regency, was apprehended by Purnamasari Village Head Erwin and vigilant locals who had been suspicious of his activities.
According to Liespono, motorcycle thefts in Purnamasari Village had become a recurring issue, drawing the attention of local residents. Consequently, the community joined forces to conduct surveillance and successfully captured two suspects in the act. One of the suspects was detained at the Purnamasari Village Hall, Kikim Barat Subdistrict, Lahat Regency.
Later, around 07:15 AM, the Investigation and Intelligence Unit of Kikim Barat Police received this information and promptly informed Kikim Barat Police Chief IPDA Joni Arfan SE and Ka, SPK AIPTU Maksum. They immediately headed to the scene of the incident in Purnamasari Village to pick up the detained motorcycle theft suspects.
After the retrieval, Liespono explained that the suspects were taken into custody at Kikim Barat Police for further investigation regarding a series of motorcycle thefts that had frequently occurred in Purnamasari Village, Kikim Barat Subdistrict, Lahat Regency.
According to Liespono, from the arrested suspect Parnudin, it was revealed that they had committed motorcycle theft four times in Purnamasari Village, in collaboration with a friend named Sayid (Lidik). The stolen items included a Honda Supra 125 motorbike and a Chainsaw/Sinso hand tool.
The apprehension of the suspected motorcycle thieves was based on police reports filed by Ganda Hartawan and Agung Setiawan, who were victims from Purnamasari Village, Kikim Barat Subdistrict, Lahat Regency.
Liespono also added that at 09:00 AM, the Operational Unit of Kikim Barat Police, led by Chief IPDA Joni Arfan SE, conducted an interrogation of the suspect Parnudin. From this questioning, Parnudin provided information that the stolen motorcycles were sold to an individual named Reno (38 KAP), a resident of Sawah Lorong Bawah, Tebing Tinggi Subdistrict, Empat Lawang Regency.
The stolen items were sold by Parnudin to Reno for a price of Rp1.5 million. Subsequently, Chief IPDA Joni Arfan SE of Kikim Barat Police, along with seven personnel from Kikim Barat Police, initiated a pursuit of Reno (KAP) at his residence in Talang Jawa Bawah, Tebing Tinggi Subdistrict, Empat Lawang Regency, as the receiver of the stolen Honda Supra 125 motorbike and Chainsaw/Sinso hand tool stolen by Parnudin and Sayid (Lidik).
Currently, the suspected culprits and the pieces of evidence have been secured at Kikim Barat Police for further investigation, witness testimonies, and the development of the Curanmor case that occurred within the jurisdiction of Kikim Barat Police.
