Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – The Special Criminal Investigation Prosecutor’s Office (Pidsus) in South Sumatra continues to gather information regarding the alleged corruption case involving irregularities in the construction of Cinde Market from 2016 to 2018. Today, on Monday (11/9/2023), four witnesses were summoned to provide statements to the investigators.
N Rahman R, the Assistant Intelligence of the South Sumatra Prosecutor’s Office, disclosed that the four witnesses being questioned include an individual with the initials “L,” who is the Branch Manager of PT Magna Beatum, as well as three members of the Cinde Market dismantling and reassembly auction committee, identified as AAF, WW, and S. All three responded to the summons from the Prosecutor’s Pidsus.
In his official statement, Rahman explained that the examination of these four witnesses is part of an ongoing general investigation aimed at strengthening the evidence in the ongoing investigation of the alleged corruption case related to the construction of Cinde Market in Palembang.
Previously, on Thursday (7/9/2203), three other witnesses were also questioned by investigators. They included an individual with the initials “I,” who served as the Head of the SPI at PD Pasar Palembang Jaya or the Chair of the Auction Committee for the remaining demolition of the Cinde Market building in 2017. Additionally, FS, who was the Head of Data and Information Planning Subdivision at PD Pasar Palembang Jaya and the Secretary of the auction committee for the remaining demolition of the Cinde Market building in 2017, and ES, who was the Head of the Accounting Subdivision at PD Pasar Palembang Jaya and also a member of the auction committee.
Apart from the auction committee witnesses, senior officials from PD Pasar Palembang Jaya also responded to the summons as witnesses. These individuals included HE, the Director of Administration and Finance at PD Pasar Palembang Jaya, MW, the Head of Human Resources at PD Pasar Palembang Jaya, and HMI, who was the Subdivision Head at PD Pasar Palembang Jaya.
Furthermore, investigators also questioned representatives from the construction firm PT Magna Beatum Aldiron (MBA). From PT MBA, three key witnesses have provided statements to investigators. They are MFT, who serves as the CEO of Magna Beatum, ALT, the Commissioner of PT Magna Beatum, and RY, a Representative of PT Magna Beatum’s Management.
According to Vanny, the spokesperson for investigators from PT MBA, the investigative activities will continue with the summoning and questioning of other witnesses related to this case. Vanny expressed hope that witnesses who are unable to attend in person will cooperate by responding to the summons, facilitating a smooth investigative process. Witness testimonies are crucial for investigators to strengthen the evidence and identify potential suspects, given the significant financial implications of this case, which amount to hundreds of billions of rupiahs.
