Jakarta, KOTABARI.COM – The case involving an alleged embezzlement of Rp 5 billion (approximately $350,000) by renowned motivational figure, Mario Teguh, has yet to find a resolution. The complainant, Syarah, claims to have suffered financial losses and has expressed her sentiments regarding the business partnership with Mario Teguh.
Syarah alleges that Mario Teguh attempted to capitalize more on the partnership by suggesting a promotional strategy that did not align with her expectations. According to Syarah, Mario Teguh proposed that at least 12 celebrities undertake a world tour, with first-class flights arranged for both himself and the accompanying artists.
However, Syarah rejected this proposal, arguing that, as an online sales business, increased sales could be achieved without the need for costly first-class flights. “We need to change our approach to generate more sales. Given that we operate online, once the product gains traction, there’s no need for first-class travel, at least from our perspective. But the requests from them (Mario Teguh and his wife) keep coming,” Syarah stated.
In her testimony, Syarah revealed that Mario Teguh had designated several countries for the proposed first-class flights. Nevertheless, Syarah felt that this promotional method did not align with her intended strategy and was prohibitively expensive. She also highlighted the recurring nature of Mario Teguh’s requests on this matter.
On the other side of the spectrum, Mario Teguh has yet to comment on these allegations. However, his representatives have firmly denied any involvement in the embezzlement of Rp 5 billion. Furthermore, Mario Teguh and his wife, Linna, have filed a lawsuit against Sunyoto Indra Prayitno and Syarah pertaining to the authenticity of the skincare brand at the heart of this dispute. This legal action was initiated on July 17, 2023, preceding Mario Teguh’s report on allegations of embezzlement.
Mario Teguh’s lawyer, Willy Lesmana Putra, disclosed that the lawsuit concerning the skincare brand’s authenticity is currently underway and progressing. “Regarding the legal process, Ms. Linna filed the lawsuit on May 17, 2023. What’s certain is that the lawsuit alleging unlawful conduct, registered in court by Ms. Linna, is currently ongoing,” stated Willy Lesmana Putra during a press conference on Saturday.
The ongoing business dispute and embezzlement allegations continue to capture public attention, as the involved parties strive to achieve a fair and transparent resolution. Further developments in this case will be closely monitored.
