PALI, KOTABARI.COM – The alternative route connecting PALI Regency with Musirawas Regency is confirmed to be impassable for travelers ahead of the 2024 Eid al-Fitr celebration. This decision was made after the police discovered concerning conditions of several bridges along the route.
PALI Police Chief, AKBP Khairu Nasrudin, through his representative, Traffic Chief AKP Kukuh Fefrianto, announced the temporary closure of the PALI-Musirawas alternative route. The reason behind this is the poor condition of four bridges along the route, which require urgent repairs.
According to AKP Kukuh, the Sungai Teras bridge is the main concern. Its deterioration occurred two days ago due to the passage of two heavy-loaded trucks simultaneously. As a result, the bridge’s pile foundations cracked and its position tilted, with only 25 percent of its strength remaining.
In addition to the Sungai Teras bridge, the Sungai Keruh bridge in the Musi Rawas area is also undergoing repairs by Pertamina. However, many parts of the bridge are already corroded and suboptimal. Meanwhile, the Pabil River bridge in Semanggus Village and the bridge in Sungai Baung Village, PALI, are also in similarly precarious conditions.
“With these concerning bridge conditions, we advise drivers from PALI to Musirawas or vice versa not to use the PALI-Musirawas alternative route,” said AKP Kukuh.
The Traffic Chief emphasized that the decision to temporarily close the alternative route is made for the safety of travelers. The duration of the closure has not been determined yet, while the police continue to monitor the bridge’s conditions.
“We urge travelers to choose alternative routes, such as through Muara Enim towards Lubuklinggau, for the safety and comfort of everyone and to avoid unwanted incidents,” he added.
With the closure of the PALI-Musirawas alternative route, travelers are encouraged to heed the advice and seek safer alternative routes for their journeys ahead of the Eid al-Fitr celebration in 2024.
