Indralaya Utara, KOTABARI.COM – A tragic incident rocked Permata Baru Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra (Sumsel), in the early hours of Saturday (4/27/2024). Fitra, the owner of a well-known coffee shop in the area, became the victim of a heinous murder by two unidentified individuals.
According to reports, the two perpetrators attempted to flee without paying after enjoying drinks at the victim’s shop. Fitra, in his wisdom, requested payment before they left. However, what followed shook the nearby residents to the core.
When asked to pay, the two attackers instead stabbed Fitra with a knife, ruthlessly taking the life of the coffee shop owner. Not satisfied with that, Fitra’s wife, Monika, also fell victim. She suffered slash wounds to her abdomen from the unexpected attack.
“The two perpetrators, who were thin and muscular, have taken away my husband. I also did not escape their attack,” Monika said, her voice trembling.
Without mercy, the two attackers immediately fled using a motorcycle towards Palembang. The identities of the two perpetrators have not yet been ascertained, leaving concerns among the local community.
Ogan Ilir Police Chief, AKBP Andi Baso Rahman, stated that the case is being taken seriously. A joint team from the Ogan Ilir Criminal Investigation Unit and Indralaya Police Station is conducting an intensive investigation to apprehend the two perpetrators who are still at large.
“We are in pursuit of the two perpetrators who committed this heinous murder. They will soon face the law,” Andi Baso Rahman emphasized.
This incident dealt a heavy blow to the surrounding community, sparking concerns about safety in their daily lives. Hopefully, the perpetrators can be swiftly apprehended and justice can be served to bring closure to the victims and their families.
