Musi Banyuasin, KOTABARI.COM â Two units of the Putra Remaja bus fleet were targeted in an attack by unknown individuals while passing through the Sumatra highway area in Babat Supat District, Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra, on Friday at around 9:00 PM.
The windows of the crowded buses were struck by hard objects thrown from the right side, causing damage to the glass on the left side. Fortunately, there were no casualties in this incident, but the buses had to stop momentarily as passengers panicked due to glass fragments filling the bus seats.
The throwing incident was captured on video by one of the passengers aboard the Putra Remaja bus. The video footage indicates that the attack occurred in Babat Supat, Muba, and involved two Putra Remaja buses.
When contacted for comment, the Babat Supat Police Chief, Inspector Marlin, stated that they have yet to ascertain the exact chronology of the throwing incident as they are still gathering further information.
“It was an act of throwing, not shooting as depicted in the circulated video,” he remarked.
Efforts are still ongoing to contact the bus drivers who were victims of the throwing incident, but no further details have been obtained at this time.
“They did not file a report to the police, and it seems the buses have continued their journey. We have deployed a team to conduct further investigation,” he added.
