Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the South Sumatra Regional Police is relentlessly conducting an intensive investigation into reports from several victims who have fallen prey to the Future E-Commerce (FEC) Online investment scheme. As of now, the reported losses incurred by victims have amounted to hundreds of millions of Indonesian Rupiah.
This investigation also encompasses suspicions surrounding the involvement of certain officials from the South Sumatra Provincial Government in the FEC Online investment scheme. Despite speculations regarding their roles, the Ditreskrimsus of the South Sumatra Regional Police has yet to receive any official reports concerning this matter.
AKBP Putu Yudha Prawira, the Deputy Director of Ditreskrimsus at the South Sumatra Regional Police, stated that the case remains under thorough investigation, and authorities are determined to identify all parties responsible for this issue.
“This case is still under investigation, and we will further develop it to determine who should be held accountable for this matter,” said AKBP Putu Yudha Prawira in an interview with Tribunsumsel.com on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.
According to AKBP Putu, as of September 11, 2023, a total of 25 victims have reported allegations of FEC investment that has caused them financial losses to the South Sumatra Regional Police. These victims have suffered varying financial losses, ranging from IDR 50 million to IDR 100 million per person.
AKBP Putu explained that this investment involved a process of topping up funds into a specific application, followed by purchasing goods. Victims were then given the promise of profits from this investment. Unfortunately, the application used for the investment is now inaccessible, and victims who have topped up or deposited funds cannot withdraw their money.
The ongoing investigation aims to uncover all aspects of the detrimental FEC Online investment scheme and to identify the responsible individuals. The South Sumatra Regional Police’s Ditreskrimsus is also continuously gathering information from other potential victims who may not have reported similar cases to ensure that justice is upheld and victims receive proper compensation.
The South Sumatra Police urge the public to exercise caution when investing and always conduct thorough due diligence before engaging in any investment programs. They also encourage anyone who has fallen victim to illegal investment schemes to promptly report such cases to the authorities to avoid further losses.
