A doctor identified by the initials MYD, who is a suspect in a case involving alleged harassment of a patient’s wife, identified as TAF, has skipped a summons by the Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumsel). MYD was supposed to attend a questioning session on Thursday (4/25/2024), but failed to show up.
According to AKBP Raswidiati Anggraini, the Sub-directorate IV of Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Sumatra Regional Police, MYD’s absence was based on a letter sent by his legal team. The letter stated that MYD was out of town and had unavoidable commitments.
“MYD has been designated as a suspect since April 17. A summons as a suspect has been issued to him on the 20th to appear on April 25, 2024,” said Commissioner Pol Sunarto, the Head of Public Relations of the Sumatra Regional Police.
The case revolves around allegations of sexual harassment against a patient’s wife at Bunda Jakabaring Hospital. TAF’s legal team, representing the victim, has received a Notice of Investigative Progress (SP2HP) regarding the suspect’s case from the Sub-directorate IV of the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Sumatra Regional Police.
Despite being designated as a suspect, MYD’s absence from the interrogation raises questions about his commitment to the legal process regarding this case. The Sumatra Regional Police plans to reschedule the summons for MYD.
