Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – A joint team from the Narcotics Unit of the Palembang City Police and the Narcotics Directorate of the South Sumatra Regional Police raided a drug village in the 36 Ilir Tangga Buntung area of Palembang. The operation, conducted on Tuesday morning, took place from 5:30 AM to 6:30 AM, targeting three alleys: Lorong Jambu, Lorong Sailun, and Lorong Gayam.

Deputy Director of Narcotics at the South Sumatra Regional Police, AKBP Harissandi, revealed that the raid resulted in the arrest of five people across the three locations. Among the five detained individuals were elderly people and women.

“We apprehended one person from Lorong Jambu and four others from the adjacent Lorong Jambu. All of them have been taken to the Palembang City Police Headquarters for urine testing,” said Harissandi.

In addition to detaining individuals suspected of using drugs, the joint team also found several pieces of evidence, including methamphetamine pipes and packets. “We found pipes and meth packets in front of the fence. We also discovered many used meth plastic bags and some evidence that had been burned,” he added.

The raid involved 150 personnel from various police units, including the Narcotics Unit, Narcotics Directorate, Mobile Brigade Unit, Water Police, and the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Palembang City Police.

This raid is part of the ongoing police efforts to combat drug trafficking and use in the Palembang area. The police remain committed to maintaining public safety and order by taking firm action against drug offenders.
