Chairman of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Ogan Ilir, Edi Rahmat, stated that the floods were caused by the overflow of the Ogan River.

Specifically, there were 20 affected houses in Munggu Village, 30 in Rantau Sialang, 160 in Kuang Anyar, and 285 in Seri Menanti Village, which was recorded as the most severely affected by the floods.
