Lahat, KOTABARI.COM – YR, the former Head of the Lahat Inspectorate, has been officially named a suspect by the Lahat District Attorney’s Office in a corruption case. The charges relate to alleged misconduct in three activities carried out by the Inspectorate in the 2020 Fiscal Year, including community complaint handling socialization, anti-gratification socialization, and Liasion Officer/Organizer enhancement.
The Head of the Lahat District Attorney’s Office, Toto Roedianto SH MH, along with Kasi Intel Zit Muttaqin SH, announced that YR, who served as the Inspector and Budget User (PA) in 2020, is accused of abuse of authority. The suspect designation was made under the Suspect Designation Letter No. B 1124/L.6.14/Fd.1/07/2024 dated July 22, 2024.
“Investigation teams have questioned 141 witnesses and collected various documents as evidence,” Toto Roedianto stated during a press conference on Monday (July 22, 2024).
YR faces charges under multiple anti-corruption statutes, including Article 2 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of Law No. 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Corruption Crimes, amended by Law No. 20 of 2001, and Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the Penal Code, with alternative charges under Article 3 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of the same law.
The investigation revealed that YR’s actions resulted in a state financial loss of IDR 800 million. He faces a maximum prison sentence of 20 years and a minimum of 4 years.
Although YR has retired from his position as a Civil Servant, he has been detained for 20 days from July 22 to August 11, 2024, at the Lahat Class II A Correctional Facility. He is expected to be tried at the Lahat District Court.
