Teluk Kecapi, Ogan Ilir, KOTABARI.COM – The Head of Teluk Kecapi Village, Rohiman, has officially clarified the adultery allegations against him. The issue arose after a video of residents accusing Rohiman of adultery went viral on social media on Friday night (May 31, 2024).
During a press conference held at the Teluk Kecapi Village office on Wednesday (June 5, 2024), Rohiman appeared with his two wives, including his unofficial wife, who was alleged to be his mistress. He began his statement by apologizing to the Ogan Ilir Regent and the local community for the disturbance caused by the rumors.
“I need to clarify that the allegations of adultery against me are false. They are slander,” Rohiman stated firmly.
Rohiman explained that he had an unofficial marriage with his second wife, identified by the initials MT, early last year. According to Rohiman, the marriage was kept secret to protect his unofficial wife’s feelings and his reputation as the Head of Teluk Kecapi Village.
“I have been unofficially married to the woman accused of being my mistress,” he explained. “And today, I speak to clarify the facts so that the community is not confused by baseless rumors.”
Rohiman urged the community, especially in Teluk Kecapi Village, not to be provoked by irresponsible parties. He also presented documentation of his unofficial marriage, including witnesses and marriage guardians.
“There are witnesses, there is a certificate, and there is a marriage guardian,” he asserted.
Previously, the incident had been handled by the police. The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Ogan Ilir Police, AKP Muhammad Ilham, stated that no adultery reports were filed with the police regarding Rohiman’s case.
“The family, especially the village head’s first wife, did not wish to report to the police. They chose to resolve the issue within the family,” Ilham explained.
With this clarification, Rohiman hopes that the adultery rumors will cease and that the community will understand the actual situation.
