Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI), KOTABARI.COM – In response to complaints regarding excessive payments of Vehicle Levy (Kir Kendaraan) beyond the stipulations of the Regional Regulation (Peraturan Daerah/Perda), Muhammad Sofari, the Head of UPTD PKB Dishub OKI, urges vehicle owners who require Vehicle Testing not to use third-party services. Instead, he advises them to directly register at the official counters. Sofari made this statement during a press conference with journalists at his office on Tuesday afternoon.
Sofari added that for vehicle owners, it is essential to check the specified levy fee displayed at the registration counters. “We hope that vehicle owners come directly to the counters and avoid using third-party services. The official payment should be made at the counters using BSB Cash,” he emphasized.
He further explained that by making the official payment at the counters, vehicle owners will receive a valid payment receipt, conforming to the exact amount as prescribed by the Perda. When asked about the recent audit conducted by the Supreme Audit Agency (Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan/BPK), which revealed instances of overpayments made in 2022, he clarified that such incidents could be avoided if people strictly follow the proper procedure and refrain from conducting transactions outside the official counters.
Through this advisory, Sofari hopes that vehicle owners will gain a better understanding of the importance of handling the Vehicle Levy process directly at the official counters. This way, he anticipates a more accurate payment of the levy in accordance with the regulations outlined in Regional Regulation Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir Number 8 of 2021.
