Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds struck the city of Palembang on Wednesday (June 12, 2024), causing several trees to fall in various areas, including Puncak Sekuning and Demang Lebar Daun. As a result, some trees fell onto PLN’s power lines, leading to power outages in several locations.
PLN promptly issued an announcement through their social media account, @PLN_Palembang, to inform customers about the situation. In the announcement, PLN apologized for the inconvenience caused and assured that their team was working diligently to restore power.
Iwan Arissetyadhi, Communication and TJSL Manager of PT PLN UID South Sumatra, Jambi, and Bengkulu (S2JB), confirmed that the heavy rain and strong winds had indeed caused several trees to fall onto PLN’s power lines.
“There was an outage earlier because the power lines were hit by fallen trees, but everything is back to normal now,” said Iwan when contacted.
He also mentioned that the affected locations included Puncak Sekuning and the Demang Lebar Daun area. PLN crews have been working tirelessly to repair and normalize the affected power lines.
PLN urges the public to remain vigilant and report any fallen trees or other issues that could disrupt power lines to ensure safety and the smooth supply of electricity in Palembang.
