Betung, KOTABARI.COM â Four days before Eid Al-Fitr 1445 Hijri, the volume of vehicles on the East Transversal Road (Jalintim) has significantly increased, causing severe congestion on the Betung section of Jalintim since yesterday. To anticipate the growing buildup of vehicles, the Traffic Division of Musi Banyuasin Police Resort (Muba) has provided alternative routes for drivers.
According to the Head of Traffic Division of Muba Police Resort, AKP Ricky Mozam, drivers from Jambi heading towards Palembang can use alternative routes via Simpang Siku, Sungai Lilin Subdistrict, or Simpang 108, Babat Supat Subdistrict, then towards Sekayu. Subsequently, the journey continues towards Pendopo, PALI Regency, Prabumulih, and finally to Palembang.
Despite taking longer than the Betung route, this alternative route is expected to alleviate the congestion.
“We urge travelers to ensure that their vehicles are in good condition before embarking on their journey. Additionally, it is crucial to prioritize health during travel and take breaks when feeling tired,” said AKP Ricky Mozam.
One traveler, Herianto, originating from Padang, expressed that he and his family always travel to Palembang every Eid Al-Fitr H-4. However, to avoid congestion on Jalintim Betung, they prefer the alternative route via Simpang PALI.
“Although it takes about an hour longer than the Betung route, we don’t mind. It’s better to take an alternative route to avoid the stress of being stuck in traffic for hours,” said Herianto.
Despite many vehicles opting for this route, Herianto stated that the Simpang PALI alternative route is currently safe and smooth. He advises traveling in the morning as the roads are quieter and more comfortable.
With the provision of this alternative route, it is hoped that it will assist travelers in their Eid Al-Fitr journeys and reduce congestion typically experienced on the Betung section of Jalintim.
