Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – The Independent Anti-Corruption Community (KMAKI) has recently uncovered several significant issues left behind by Harno Joyo (HJ) following his appointment as the Acting Mayor of Palembang. According to KMAKI, one of the most pressing challenges that urgently needs attention is the array of problems surrounding SP2J (Management and Utilization of Service Facilities).

KMAKI has detailed that SP2J has left behind a series of legal issues ensnaring its executives and shareholders concerning alleged acts of corruption related to the utilization of Regional Budget (APBD), National Budget (APBN), and corporate profits.

Deputy Head of KMAKI, Feri Kurniawan, in his interview with Transformasinews.com on Saturday, September 23, 2023, stated, “Issues such as PLPJ (Power Plant Investment Project), Trans Musi, Jargas investment, and subsidy funds will continue to evolve into legal matters with the potential loss to the state nearing approximately IDR 200 billion.”

Feri Kurniawan also emphasized, “HJ, as a shareholder, and N, who formerly served as the CEO of SP2J, must be held legally accountable for these alleged acts of corruption.”

Highlighting the momentous change in Palembang’s leadership, Feri stated, “The change in the helm of Palembang City should mark the beginning of exposing this case by reporting it to the Prosecutor’s Office or the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).”

Feri Kurniawan further added, “Since HJ took over from the late RH, there have been numerous outstanding issues within SP2J, such as the misuse of subsidy funds and business earnings suspected of being utilized improperly by N for purposes unrelated to the business, as well as the absence of Local Regulations (Perda) governing changes in the corporate structure in accordance with Government Regulation Number 54 of 2017.”

KMAKI urges the Acting Mayor of Palembang to address these challenges diligently and expeditiously to ensure that SP2J can resume its operations effectively.

Feri Kurniawan emphasized, “If HJ and N become embroiled in legal issues, it is a consequence of their positions. There is no room to evade responsibility towards the state and the people of Palembang, and if they face legal consequences, the community must be prepared to accept them gracefully.”

KMAKI is committed to monitoring the developments of this issue to uphold transparency and accountability in the management of public funds and corporations.
