Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – The falsehood employed by Suganda, the perpetrator of the murder of a mother and child in Macan Lindungan, Palembang City, South Sumatra (Sumsel), has finally been exposed after intensive investigation by the police. Suganda claimed that he did not go to the victims’ house alone but accompanied by a friend named Hendro. However, after further examination, there was no evidence of Hendro’s presence in this case.
“The person referred to as H by Suganda turns out to be merely an alibi,” said the Chief of Palembang Police, Commissioner Pol Harryo Sugihartono, on Wednesday (17/4/2024).
The police continue to investigate to uncover the true motive behind the murder. The Director of Criminal Investigation of the South Sumatra Regional Police, Commissioner Pol M Anwar Reksowidjojo, stated that the South Sumatra Regional Police and the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Palembang City Police will coordinate with the Indonesian National Police Headquarters to utilize lie detector equipment or the polygraph from the Indonesian National Police Forensic Laboratory to test the statements of suspects and witnesses in this case.
Additionally, the police have also managed to find evidence in the form of the suspect’s mobile phone. However, the suspect’s phone is currently non-functional due to water damage.
“We are currently drying the suspect’s phone, hopefully, it can be revived,” said Anwar.
The police’s hope is for the suspect’s phone to be operational again to reveal the suspect’s last conversations before the occurrence of the murder. The investigation continues to uncover all facts related to this case.
