Lubuklinggau, KOTABARI.COM – The Lubuklinggau District Attorney’s Office (Kejari) is investigating two major corruption cases involving misappropriation of public funds with total estimated losses in the billions of rupiah. The cases involve the alleged misuse of School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds at SD Pangkalan, Musi Rawas, and the misappropriation of Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) in Lubukmas Village, Muratara.

Head of the Lubuklinggau District Attorney’s Office, Anita Asterida, stated that the two individuals who will be named suspects are the Principal of SD Pangkalan Tarum, STL Ulu Trawas Subdistrict, Musi Rawas, and the Head of Lubukmas Village, Rawas Ulu Subdistrict, North Musi Rawas.

“The principal is suspected of misusing BOS funds, causing an estimated loss of IDR 300 million. Meanwhile, the village head allegedly misappropriated BLT funds amounting to IDR 1.1 billion through fictitious development projects and inappropriate payment of village officials’ salaries,” Anita explained on Monday (December 9, 2024).

Anita revealed that the investigation into these cases has been ongoing for some time. Currently, both cases are in the investigative phase and will soon move to the stage of suspect designation.

“We initially planned to name the suspects on International Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia), Monday (December 9), as a symbolic moment. However, due to technical reasons, this had to be postponed,” she said.

The prosecutor’s office aims to conclude its decision-making process on these cases by the end of 2024. “We hope to take decisive action and resolve these cases by year’s end to ensure legal certainty,” Anita added.

The total financial losses are still being calculated to ensure accuracy. “In addition to the primary funds, other sectors were also misappropriated, so we need to identify all items involved thoroughly,” Anita noted.

These two cases have drawn public attention due to the significant financial losses and their impact on local communities. The Lubuklinggau District Attorney’s Office remains committed to resolving these cases and upholding justice in the fight against corruption.
