Musi Banyuasin, KOTABARI.COM – The Government of Musi Banyuasin Regency once again demonstrates its commitment to providing entertainment to its residents. In order to celebrate the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia (Independence Day), the Musi Banyuasin Regency organized a spirited event: a rowing boat competition held in Teluk Kijing I and Teluk Kijing II Villages, Lais District.
This event garnered considerable attention from the public, drawing the participation of 51 teams who eagerly joined the competition. In the spirit of unity and togetherness, they competed in the traditional and legendary Rowing Boat competition, which has become a hallmark of the Serasan Sekate region, just as Musi Banyuasin is known for.
The highlight of the competition was the grand prize, a four-wheeled vehicle, which captured the imagination of the participants. The enthusiasm was palpable as the participants vied for victory. The event was inaugurated by the Acting Regent of Musi Banyuasin, Drs H Apriyadi MSi, who attended with great anticipation and the hope that the event would proceed smoothly and harmoniously, in line with the spirit of the 78th Independence Day celebrations in Kabupaten Muba.
In his opening speech, Acting Regent Drs H Apriyadi MSi not only expressed his pride in the event but also conveyed his gratitude and appreciation to all parties involved in organizing the event. He expressed his hope that such activities would continue in the future and be expanded, not only at the regional level but also nationally and even internationally.
Going beyond providing encouragement to the participants, Acting Regent Drs H Apriyadi MSi surprised everyone by increasing the prize money by 25 million Indonesian rupiahs. Encouraging healthy competition, he urged participants to compete with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. He also reminded the audience to maintain order and safety while watching the competition.
Abdul Aziz SE, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, also addressed the gathering. He revealed that a total of 51 teams participated, both from within and outside Musi Banyuasin Regency. They engaged in spirited competition, vying for the top prize, which was a car, as well as other prizes such as a cow for the second-place winner and a motorbike for the third-place winner. Abdul Aziz SE also expressed his gratitude to the Acting Regent for his direct support by attending the Rowing Boat Competition event.
The event was graced not only by participants and organizers but also by several key figures, including Letkol Inf Erry Dwianto SPSI M HAN from Kodim 0401 Muba, Camat Lais Marsopi, heads of OPD Muba, and village heads in Lais District.
This event was not just a competition but also a manifestation of the spirit of togetherness and patriotism in commemorating the 78th Indonesian Independence Day. Through the Rowing Boat Competition, Musi Banyuasin once again demonstrated its enthusiasm in celebrating Indonesia’s independence with joy and jubilation.
