The victim has been identified as Feri Frediyanto (24), a migrant from Lampung, who fell victim to a homicide that occurred two days prior, on Saturday (01/27/2024) around 10:15 WIB.
The perpetrator of this heinous act is Agri Vian (34), a local resident.

The suspect was captured at his hiding place in Martapura, East OKU Regency, on Monday (02/05/2024) around 18:00 WIB.
Muba Police Chief AKBP Imam Safii, through Tungkal Jaya Police Chief Iptu Febriansyah, confirmed the resolution of the case.
“We successfully arrested suspect Agri Vian at his hiding place in Martapura on Monday (02/05/2024) with backup from the Resmob Srigala 73 team of the Muba Police Resort and the Resmob team of the East OKU Police Resort,” he said on Sunday (02/11/2024).

“The victim Feri Frediyanto and the suspect Agri Vian both lived in the same house owned by M. Akib Karim in Berlian Jaya, where the victim worked as a security guard, an employee of the suspect,” he disclosed.
The motive behind the murder is suspected to be Agri Vian’s jealousy towards Feri Frediyanto, whom the suspect believed had been disturbing his wife, who also lived in the same house.
“We are currently charging the suspect with Article 338 of the Criminal Code along with Article 351 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code regarding murder or assault resulting in the death of a person, carrying a penalty of 15 years imprisonment,” Febriansyah concluded.
The tragic death of Feri Frediyanto serves as a reminder of the dangers of excessive jealousy and conflicts within household environments. Police urge the public to resolve issues peacefully and refrain from resorting to violence as a solution.
