Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – A 24-year-old student identified as VMS filed a police report at the Palembang Police Precinct (Polrestabes Palembang) on Wednesday morning (December 18, 2024), claiming she was a victim of physical abuse by her boyfriend, DJY. The alleged abuse occurred after she decided to end their relationship, which DJY reportedly refused to accept.
The incident took place on Monday (December 16, 2024) at around 12:45 PM at DJY’s home, located on Jalan Politeknik Griya Mitra 2 Blok A1, Gandus District, Palembang. VMS said she had just returned from a job interview and went to meet DJY to ask him to unblock her WhatsApp, which he had previously blocked.
“I only wanted to ask him to unblock me on WhatsApp. We’ve been in a relationship for almost two years,” VMS stated at the police station.
However, her visit turned into a nightmare. Upon arriving at DJY’s house, she was met with anger. DJY reportedly kicked her in the stomach twice, causing her to fall. The assault escalated as he grabbed her hair, stomped on her head, slammed her head against the floor, and repeatedly hit her.
As a result of the assault, VMS suffered bruises all over her body, particularly on her head. Speaking through tears, she expressed deep disappointment over the violent treatment. “I feel very disappointed and cannot accept what he did. I hope he is arrested soon,” she said.
AKP Hery, the head of the Police Precinct’s Service Center (SPKT), confirmed that the report had been received. “The report has been filed, and the case will be handled by the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of Polrestabes Palembang,” AKP Hery told the media.
This case has drawn public attention as a reminder to stand against any form of violence in relationships. Authorities are expected to investigate thoroughly and deliver justice for the victim.
