Papua, KOTABARI.COM â A Papua Deputy Governor candidate, identified as YB, has officially been named a suspect in a domestic violence (DV) case involving his wife. YB is accused of forcing his wife to engage in a threesome with her elder sister. The incident allegedly occurred at a hotel in Yapen Selatan District, Kepulauan Yapen Regency.
“The suspect is charged under the Domestic Violence Act since the victim is his wife,” said Papua Police spokesperson, Kombes Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, on Monday (December 9, 2024).
Currently, investigators are still gathering statements from witnesses. “So far, only the victim’s statement has been taken. However, there is another witness who is suspected to have been hidden by the suspect,” Benny added.
Incident Details
The incident reportedly took place on Sunday (December 1, 2024), when YB hosted a drinking party with the victim’s elder sister at a hotel. At around 1:00 AM local time, YB called his wife to come to the hotel, claiming it was to resolve marital issues.
Upon arrival, the victim was allegedly forced by YB to consume alcohol. When she refused, YB spilled the drink on her clothes. Growing suspicious, the victim checked the hotel room and found her sister heavily intoxicated.
“The suspect forcibly removed the victim’s clothing and pressured her into engaging in sexual acts with her sister,” Benny explained.
Investigation Efforts
The police are actively searching for a key witness who is believed to be in hiding at YB’s behest. “The Criminal Investigation Directorate is working to locate this witness to complete the evidence,” Benny added.
This case has garnered significant public attention, as YB is a prominent political figure who was running for Deputy Governor of Papua. Authorities have pledged to thoroughly investigate the allegations and pursue justice for the victim.
