Lahat, KOTABARI.COM – Following their success in busting the illegal trafficking of marijuana, Tanjung Sakti PUMU Police Sub-District, it is now the turn of West Merapi Police Sub-District, Lahat Regional Police, South Sumatra Police, to unveil the illegal trafficking of sabu narcotics. As a result of this operation, the members of West Merapi Police Sub-District, led by Chief of Criminal Investigation Unit, AIPTU Aris Purwanto, managed to apprehend seven (7) suspects involved in the abuse of sabu narcotics, with one of them believed to be a drug dealer.

The capture of the seven (7) suspects involved in the misuse of sabu narcotics includes Endang Suryadi (36), resident of Tanjung Lontar Village, Muhamad Ibnu Vigo (25), a private company employee from Gedung Agung Village, East Merapi District, Jodi Alfarezi (35), a private company employee from Nanjingan Village, East Merapi District, Rendika (23), resident of Gedung Agung Village, East Merapi District, Halomuan (18), resident of Tanjung Jambu Village, West Merapi District, Fahri Akibar (24), resident of Gedung Agung Village, East Merapi District, and Agustian (33), resident of Sengkuang Village, West Merapi District, Lahat Regency.

The Chief of Lahat Regional Police, AKBP S. Kunto Hartono, SIK, MT, through the Head of Public Relations of Lahat Regional Police, IPTU Sugianto, confirmed that the Criminal Investigation Unit of West Merapi Police Sub-District had successfully uncovered the involvement of seven (7) individuals in the misuse of sabu narcotics. Regarding the arrest chronology, Liespono stated that on Friday, July 28, 2023, at approximately 10:00 PM WIB, based on information from the public, suspected illegal trafficking of narcotics was detected in Tanjung Lontar Village, East Merapi District, Lahat Regency.

“Armed with this information, then ten members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of West Merapi Police Sub-District, under the leadership of AIPTU Aris Purwanto, went to the location in Tanjung Lontar Village,” said Liespono on Sunday, July 30, 2023. Upon arrival at the scene, Liespono stated that the police successfully apprehended seven (7) males. Subsequently, the officers conducted an inspection and discovered several pieces of evidence believed to be sabu narcotics inside a room belonging to the suspect, Endang Supriadi.

The pieces of evidence, suspected to be sabu narcotics, found inside the room of the suspect, Endang Supriadi, were confirmed by the suspect himself. Without delay, the apprehended suspects along with the seized evidence were promptly taken to West Merapi Police Sub-District.

“The confiscated pieces of evidence include one small packet of white crystal blocks suspected to be sabu narcotics, one small packet of white crystal powder suspected to be sabu narcotics, 20 transparent plastic clips, one Ming Heng Mini Scail digital scale, one pink wallet, three plastic straw scoops made from Aqua plastic straws, and one red Oppo A3s mobile phone,” explained Liespono.

AIPTU Liespono also revealed that Endang Supriadi admitted ownership of the seized pieces of evidence. Without delay, the suspects along with the recovered evidence were immediately taken to West Merapi Police Sub-District for further processing.

Lahat Police Chief, AKBP S. Kunto Hartono, SIK, MT, expressed his appreciation for the performance of West Merapi Police Sub-District officers in successfully uncovering the illegal trafficking of sabu narcotics. He also emphasized the police force’s commitment to continue combating the illegal trafficking of narcotics within their jurisdiction. This operation is a concrete step in the fight against drug-related crimes to establish a drug-free society.

As of now, the case is still under further investigation by the police to uncover the broader network of sabu narcotics trafficking. The police also urge the public to remain actively involved by providing valuable information to aid in the eradication of illegal narcotics trafficking in their communities.
