OKU Timur, KOTABARI.COM – The residents of Tanjung Mas Village, Semendawai Barat District, East OKU Regency, were shocked by the discovery of the corpse of a middle-aged man that sent shockwaves through the community. The body was found with hands and feet tied in the vicinity of Pasipatan River, drawing a crowd of curious onlookers eager to witness the grim scene.
According to reports received, the corpse is suspected to be a victim of homicide, as the hands and feet were bound using banana leaves. Police officers from the Cempaka Sub-District Police Station swiftly arrived at the scene to secure the area and conduct further examination.
East OKU Regency Police Chief, AKBP Dwi Agung Setyono SIK MH, through Cempaka Police Chief AKP Aston Sinaga SH, explained that authorities are still at the Location of the Crime Scene (TKP) as of now. “The body is unrecognizable. It’s a male, approximately aged 40 or above,” stated Cempaka Police Chief.
It’s noted that the body was in an advanced state of decomposition and is currently being evacuated to Tulus Ayu Regional Hospital. “The body was discovered in a distressing state, with its hands and feet tied using dried banana leaf fibers. We are awaiting the arrival of an ambulance to commence evacuation,” he added.
Authorities are currently conducting further investigations to uncover the identity and motives behind the tragic death of the man. The local community is left reeling by this incident, hoping for swift justice and the apprehension of the perpetrator(s) involved in this heinous crime.
