Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – A horrifying incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday (August 30, 2023) in Palembang, South Sumatra (Sumsel), as a housewife named Yunita fell victim to a brutal attack by robbers. Yunita, who was returning home to Perum Griya Lebak Murni after selling goods at the market, experienced a terrifying ordeal when three unknown individuals stabbed and assaulted her.
As Yunita was passing through H Amaludin Street, Sukamaju Subdistrict, Sako District, Palembang, her motorcycle was intercepted by a motorcycle carrying three individuals she did not recognize. Yunita described the moment as a sudden shock that left her terrified. Without hesitation, she revved her motorcycle’s engine, attempting to escape the pursuit of the three assailants.
However, the chase didn’t end there. When the two motorcycles were in close proximity, one of the attackers suddenly struck Yunita’s head and slashed at her hand. Despite sustaining injuries from the attack, Yunita continued to accelerate her motorcycle and managed to reach RS Hermina to seek refuge from the pursuing robbers.
The Chief of Sako Police Station, Commissioner Sulis Pujiono, confirmed the incident and verified Yunita as the victim. The police conducted a thorough crime scene investigation and gathered statements from witnesses. According to Commissioner Sulis, the Criminal Investigation Unit (Reskrim) is actively investigating the case to identify the robbery suspects and effect their swift apprehension.
“At the moment, we are conducting an intensive investigation to locate and apprehend the suspects involved in this robbery,” stated Commissioner Sulis.
The incident has garnered public attention in Palembang and raised concerns about security in the area. The police are committed to taking decisive action to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
