TALANG UBI, KOTABARI.COM – Budi, the owner of Toko Emas Fateha, has expressed relief and gratitude after three armed robbery suspects who targeted his shop at Inpres Pendopo Market, Talang Ubi, PALI Regency, have been apprehended. The robbery incident, which occurred some time ago, had caused considerable distress for Budi and his wife, Asma.

Budi, who was attending the evening prayer (isha) at a mosque in the Pelita district of Talang Ubi, received the heartening news on Monday night (6/11/2023) after being contacted by family members at the South Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumsel). According to the information he received, two of the three robbery suspects had been successfully captured by the Jatanras team of the South Sumatra Regional Police.

In his conversation with Sripoku.com, Budi expressed his relief and gratitude upon hearing the news of the suspects’ apprehension. He also mentioned his wife’s condition, who is still in shock due to the robbery incident and has been reluctant to leave their home. Budi also revealed that he has been cautious around strangers, as the traumatic incident continues to affect him.

The robbery took place when Budi was about to retrieve his motorcycle key from the shop in order to attend the Dhuhr prayer at the mosque. Suddenly, three armed men entered the shop and pointed their weapons at Budi and his wife. Both victims refrained from resisting or calling for help, fearing that his wife might become the target of the assailants.

Once the robbers had ransacked the shop, they fled the scene, prompting Budi to call for assistance from the people at the market. One of the robbers even fired a warning shot into the air, deterring others from pursuing them.

Budi also disclosed the substantial losses he incurred due to the robbery. It is estimated that around 4 kilograms of gold, including 2 kilograms of 24-karat gold and 2 kilograms of 18-karat gold, with an approximate value of 2 billion Indonesian Rupiah, were stolen from his shop.

For the time being, his gold shop has had to temporarily close, as Budi does not currently possess the necessary capital to resume business following the losses from the robbery. Nevertheless, he remains hopeful that he can restart his business when he secures the required funding in the future.

Budi extended his appreciation to the South Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumsel) and the PALI Police for their efforts in apprehending the robbery suspects, which resulted in the resolution of the case.
