Musi Banyuasin, KOTABARI.COM – Personnel from the Traffic Police Unit of Musi Banyuasin (Muba) Police successfully stopped a suspicious four-wheeled vehicle on Saturday morning (July 22, 2023) around 06:00 AM. The silver-colored Toyota Avanza with license plate number BG 1877 UFF was driven by Candra (41), a resident of Bailangu Timur, Sekayu District.
Information about a vehicle suspected of transporting stolen iron pipes was received from the Sekayu Police around 05:30 AM. Without wasting time, the traffic police personnel from Muba Police immediately launched a rapid patrol along the Sekayu – Betung route.
Around 06:00 AM, the vehicle in question was intercepted by the traffic police personnel. Upon inspection, approximately 2 tons of iron pipes, believed to be stolen from a road landslide construction project on the Sekayu – Betung road in Sekayu District, were found.
Muba Police Chief, AKBP. Imam Safii, through the Head of Traffic Police, AKP. Ricky Mizam SH.MH., confirmed the apprehension of the vehicle carrying the stolen goods. He appreciated the quick response of his team upon receiving the information, which led to the swift apprehension of the suspicious vehicle.
Subsequently, the suspect along with the evidence was handed over to the Sekayu Police’s criminal investigation unit to be processed in accordance with applicable laws. AKP. Ricky Mizam SH.MH. reaffirmed Muba Police’s commitment to upholding the law and combating crime within its jurisdiction.
