Subang, Jawa Barat, KOTABARI.COM – A devastating accident involving a bus carrying a group of students occurred in Subang, West Java. As a result of the incident, 11 individuals were reported dead, comprising 9 students, 1 teacher, and 1 motorcyclist. The accident involved 5 vehicles, including the Trans Putera Fajar bus with license plate number AD 7524 OG, a Daihatsu Feroza D 1455 VCD car, and 3 motorcycles.
The fatal bus accident took place on the tourist route of Ciater, Subang, West Java, on Saturday night (11/5/2024).
The Head of Public Relations of the West Java Regional Police, Commissioner Jules Abraham Abast, explained that the accident began when the Trans Putera Fajar bus was traveling from Bandung towards Subang. At the accident site with a downhill terrain, the bus swerved to the right, causing it to collide with the vehicles and motorcycles present at the location.
After colliding with several vehicles ahead, the bus finally came to a stop after hitting a roadside pole from Subang towards Bandung.
“While traveling on the downhill road, it swerved to the right and collided with the Feroza vehicle coming from the opposite direction. Then it tilted to the left, with the left side tire on top and skidded, causing it to collide with three R2 type vehicles parked on the roadside,” said Jules Abraham in his statement on Saturday.
11 Fatalities Meanwhile, the Head of the Subang Health Office, Dr. Maxi, stated that they received reports indicating that there were 11 casualties in the accident. Among all the victims, 10 of them were students from Depok.
“11 individuals have passed away, 10 of whom are our children from Depok,” he said.
Maxi mentioned that one more victim who passed away was a motorcyclist from the Cibogo District, Subang Regency.
“One motorcyclist from Cibogo, Subang,” he added.
He further explained that the bus involved in the accident was carrying a group of students from Depok.
“Yes, the bus was carrying a group of students from Depok,” he confirmed.
