Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – Universitas Sjakhyakirti is facing serious challenges due to leadership dualism and allegations of fake diplomas. The situation has drawn attention from LLDIKTI Region II, which has issued an ultimatum requiring the university to resolve these issues within one month.
The Head of LLDIKTI Region II, Prof. Iskhaq Iskandar, stated that mediation is currently underway to find the best solution. “We are not issuing an official statement yet, as mediation is ongoing. Hopefully, the matter can be resolved quickly,” said Prof. Iskhaq on Tuesday (12/24/2024).
Evaluation Results and Sanctions Threat
A notification letter issued by LLDIKTI Region II on December 23, 2024, outlined findings from two academic performance evaluations conducted at Universitas Sjakhyakirti on November 26 and December 12, 2024, as well as a follow-up meeting at LLDIKTI’s office on December 16, 2024. The evaluations revealed several critical issues:
- Leadership dualism at both the foundation and university levels.
- Alleged fake diplomas reported through the public complaints platform, https://sp4n.lapor.go.id/.
- Incomplete student data affecting academic administration.
Prof. Iskhaq emphasized that a one-month deadline has been given to resolve these internal conflicts. If unresolved within this timeframe, the matter will be escalated to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) for further action.
Additionally, LLDIKTI will withhold various services during the conflict, including institutional recommendations, graduation proposals, faculty submission approvals, and student scholarship services.
Student Concerns
Students at Universitas Sjakhyakirti are deeply concerned about the current situation. Yogi, a final-year student, expressed hope that the conflict would be resolved soon. “We would be devastated if the university shuts down. Graduation is just around the corner after years of hard work. We really hope the issues are resolved quickly,” said Yogi emotionally.
As of this report, university officials, including Deputy Rector I Amir, have not provided any comments regarding the ongoing conflict.
Potential Impact on the University’s Future
This situation serves as a stern warning for Universitas Sjakhyakirti to reform immediately. Failure to resolve the conflict within the stipulated time could lead to severe sanctions, including the potential closure of the institution.
With the ultimatum in place, all stakeholders are expected to collaborate to secure Universitas Sjakhyakirti’s future and ensure uninterrupted education for its students.
