Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – A married couple named Marsup and Nurmala Dewi have reported their biological child, identified as AD, for an alleged case of assault. The incident occurred at their residence on Jalan KH Azhari, Lorong Keramat, Kelurahan 5 Ulu, Kecamatan SU I, Palembang, on Sunday (4/2/2024), around 22:00.
The tension arose within the family after watching a presidential debate. The couple got into an argument with their child, allegedly sparked by differing presidential candidate preferences.
As the night progressed, the conflict escalated when the mother turned off the television and asked AD to go to sleep. Instead of complying, AD’s emotions flared up due to the television being turned off, leading to an act of physical aggression against their parents.
As a result of the alleged assault, Marsup and Nurmala Dewi sustained bruises. They decided to bring this matter to the attention of the Palembang City Police Department on Monday (5/2/2024).
Officers from the Palembang City Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit explained that the altercation stemmed from a trivial disagreement following the presidential debate. When the mother turned off the television, AD reacted emotionally and allegedly assaulted both of his parents.
The victim’s report has been officially filed with the police under case number LP/B/303/II/2024/SPKT/Polrestabes Palembang/Polda Sumsel. This case will be promptly investigated by the police authorities to ensure justice for the married couple who fell victim to their own child’s aggression.
