Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – In a tragic incident on Saturday, March 30, 2024, Muhammad Rohim (28), a motorcyclist, met a gruesome end after colliding with a parked truck with license plate BG 8906 OW on Jalan Residen Abdul Rozak, IT II District, Palembang. The accident occurred around 07:00 in the morning.
According to AKBP Yenni Daniarti, the Head of Traffic Unit at Palembang Metropolitan Police, speaking through Iptu AR Sikakum, the Accident Unit Chief, the fatal accident occurred when Rohim was riding his Honda Scoopy motorcycle with license plate BG 3409 YAO. Rohim was traveling from Simpang Empat Patal towards Simpang Tiga Celentang.
Upon reaching the location, Rohim collided with the rear of the parked tronton truck on the left side of the median.
“Upon discovering the incident, our officers immediately transported the victim to Pusri Hospital,” stated AR Sikakum to kotabari.com.
Despite receiving intensive medical treatment at the hospital, Rohim succumbed to his injuries, which included suspected fractures in the chest and head.
“The tronton truck driver has been detained for questioning regarding the accident. Both the truck and motorcycle have been evacuated to the traffic accident post,” AR Sikakum concluded.
