Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – On Thursday (4/18/2024), Anung Kurniawan, the husband of the victim Wasila and the father of Farah, who tragically fell at the hands of Suganda, finally spoke up to clarify the accusations made by the perpetrator of the murder. Suganda had been apprehended by a joint team of the Criminal Investigation Unit of Palembang City Police, Sukarami Police Station, and South Sumatra Regional Police after the horrific incident took place.

Suganda, upon being captured by the police, revealed the motive behind his heinous act against Wasila and Farah. According to him, the dreadful deed was triggered by his discontent over unpaid wages by Anung. However, Anung vehemently denied such claims.

Speaking to kotabari.com, Anung explained that Suganda’s accusations were unfounded. He affirmed that the issue regarding the payment of wages had been settled and resolved a year ago. “A year ago, there was contract work, and he was one of those involved. Because he left at that time, the wages were eventually given to his parents. The payment issue has been settled and concluded a year ago,” Anung stated.

Anung also expressed his astonishment at Suganda’s confession of harboring resentment due to unpaid wages. He claimed that Suganda had previously inquired about job opportunities but had never mentioned anything about wage payment. “The wage issue was never asked by Suganda if I didn’t pay,” Anung clarified.

Furthermore, Anung disclosed that Suganda had not been working with him for approximately a year. Suganda was often asked to deliver fertilizer in and around Palembang City and its outskirts but not as a permanent employee. “He was a freelance worker,” Anung added.

Anung also expressed his confusion over the tragic actions carried out by Suganda, someone he knew as a quiet person who enjoyed socializing with friends while working with him. “I didn’t expect him, who was quiet, to do this. As far as I know, the wage issue has been settled. I just don’t know if he also harbored resentment towards me, about what,” he said.

This tragic tale sheds light on the complexity of the reasons behind acts of violence. While the motive may initially seem clear, the truth is often far more intricate than meets the eye. Hopefully, the authorities can deliver justice for the victims and their families, and resolve this case with transparency and fairness.
