OKI, KOTABARI.COM – A heartbreaking accident occurred on the East-West Highway (Jalintim) in front of the OKI Regent’s Office (Ogan Komering Ilir) on Monday afternoon, sadly claiming the life of a woman. Dewi Septy Anggraini (34), an employee of the Department of Communication and Informatics (Diskominfo) of OKI Regency, became a fatality in this tragic incident.
Alongside Dewi, her friend, Nur Latifa, also an employee of Diskominfo of OKI Regency, suffered serious injuries and is currently being treated at RSUD Kayuagung.
This terrible accident took place around 11:00 in the morning and involved a motorcycle and a fuso truck. According to eyewitness Yusuf, an OKI Satpol PP employee, the incident occurred when a large truck was traveling from Palembang to Lampung. At the same time, two motorcyclists were heading from the Jalintim direction towards the local government office.
Suddenly, the truck violated traffic rules and entered the opposing lane, resulting in a fatal collision with the motorcycle ridden by Dewi and accompanied by Nur Latifa. As a result of the accident, Dewi, who was riding pillion, managed to jump off the motorcycle, while the driver was dragged and crushed by the truck.
The accident left deep sorrow, with Dewi Septy Anggraini losing her life at the scene. Eyewitnesses and local residents immediately provided first aid to the victims and rushed them to RSUD Kayuagung. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, Dewi did not survive, while Nur Latifa sustained serious injuries.
This tragic accident has captured the attention of the local community, and authorities are conducting further investigations to determine the exact cause and whether any other factors contributed to the incident.
