Lahat, KOTABARI.COM – Senabing Village, Lahat District, Lahat Regency was shaken by a shocking suicide tragedy. A man named Sulaiman (36), a laborer who was still a bachelor, was found dead by hanging under his house on Monday, September 4, 2023, around 09:00 AM local time.
The discovery was first made by the victim’s biological mother when she entered the lower room of the house where her son was found in a tragic condition. Initially, in the morning at around 06:30 AM, Sulaiman appeared as usual after waking up. However, when his mother returned to the lower room at 09:00 AM, she could not contain her shock when she saw her son had ended his life in a tragic manner. Sulaiman was found hanging using a red scarf, lifeless, with his tongue protruding.
Information about the discovery of Sulaiman’s body was also confirmed by a member of Babinsa Koramil 405-12/Lahat, SERDA Romi Hidayat, who received a report from the Head of Hamlet (Kadus) of Hamlet 1, Senabing Village, Lahat District, Lahat Regency. Danramil 405-12/Lahat, Captain Inf Mardiyanto, received the report and then informed the incident to Dandim 0405/Lahat, Lieutenant Colonel Inf Toni Oki Priyono SIP.
“While monitoring, Babinsa 405-12/Lahat received a report from Hamlet 1, Senabing Village, Lahat District, that a bachelor had been found dead by hanging under his house,” SERDA Romi Hidayat said in his report on Monday, September 4, 2023. He explained that Sulaiman was a laborer and a resident of Hamlet 1, Senabing Village, Lahat District, Lahat Regency.
The chronology of events, as explained by SERDA Romi Hidayat, showed that Sulaiman had not shown any suspicious signs since the previous night, and his behavior appeared normal. In the morning, around 06:00 AM, Sulaiman’s mother entered the lower room of the house, and Sulaiman was not there. However, at around 06:30 AM, she found that her son had woken up and was going about his usual activities. When she reentered the lower room at 09:00 AM, she found Sulaiman in a tragic condition.
The INAVIS team from Lahat Police and members of the Lahat Police Sector arrived at the scene to conduct a crime scene investigation. Their investigation concluded that Sulaiman had died by suicide. The victim’s family, after hearing the explanation from the investigative team, accepted the tragedy that befell them and agreed to bury Sulaiman in the Senabing Village Cemetery, Lahat District, Lahat Regency today. This tragedy has left deep sorrow for the family and the village community, and it serves as a reminder of the importance of supporting individuals who may be experiencing mental pressure.
