Palembang, KOTABARI.COM – A serious accident occurred on the Sumatra’s Trans-Sumatra Highway (Jalinsum) section connecting Palembang and Indralaya on Saturday afternoon, September 9, 2023, when a box truck collided with two cars and a motorcycle. The incident resulted in three people sustaining injuries and requiring medical attention.
According to the police report, the accident took place in the northern area of Indralaya. Ogan Ilir Police Chief, AKBP Andi Baso Rahman, represented by Traffic Unit Officer Ipda Ramon, confirmed the tragic event.
The initial sequence of the accident began when two cars and a motorcycle were traveling from Indralaya towards Palembang. Meanwhile, from the opposite direction, a box truck was speeding and collided forcefully with the three vehicles. The impact of the collision caused all four vehicles to veer off the road.
As a result of the accident involving the box truck, a Terios car, and a motorcycle, three individuals sustained injuries. They were promptly transported to hospitals in Indralaya and Palembang to receive medical care. The injured victims include the truck driver, the Terios car driver, and the motorcycle rider. The driver of the Brio car escaped without serious injuries.
All vehicles involved in this accident have been secured by the police and taken to the Ogan Ilir Police Station for further investigation. The police are currently investigating the exact cause of the accident and will take appropriate steps to determine responsibility in this incident.
